Our vision at Pencombe CofE Primary is “In God’s hands, we love, learn, grow and inspire.”
In order for our children to love, learn, grow and inspire, we will support them to gain knowledge, perseverance, resilience, and the imagination to develop themselves spiritually, academically and socially; living out Christian values in order to live happy, fulfilling and considerate lives. We uphold the right of every individual to learn, be valued and to flourish.
We work closely with the diocese, governors and school community to build a curriculum which considers how we live out our values to achieve the vision which is firmly rooted in a theological Christian narrative. Â

“What shall we say the kingdom of God is like, or what parable shall we use to describe it? It is like the mustard seed, which is the smallest of all seeds on the earth. Yet, when planted, it grows and becomes the largest of all garden plants, with such big branches that the birds can perch in its shade.
Mark 4: 30-32
The parable of the mustard seed is a key passage that reflects much of our school vision and motto In God’s hands, we love, learn, grow and inspire.
It can be a metaphor for our children, who blossom during their time here ready for the next stage of their journey. Each child is nurtured here, and enabled to flourish through our teaching and care.Â
We treat every child with the dignity and respect they deserve, modelling how they should treat others.
Each child is like a mustard seed, and each child grows from something small into something strong and beautiful, offering support to those who they meet in life.
We provide our children with the opportunities to learn, appreciate and be curious about themselves and their place within our global community.Â
We encourage our children to make positive choices as demonstrated through their choice of our school’s Christian values.
We celebrate our children for who they are, their individual qualities and their achievements.
Big things can come from small beginnings; who knows what great things our pupils will go on to achieve in the future?
