Committee Members

The PTA willingly help at and coordinate events and support our activities throughout the year; this reflects the friendly and inclusive ethos of our school, and all the proceeds they raise helps to fund school activities and equipment.

The PTA also provides valuable social opportunities for those in our school community to meet and have fun. Everyone is welcome to participate (all parents and carers are automatically members) and creative minds are welcomed to dream up new fundraising ideas and to help decide how best to spend the money the PTA raises.

The PTA runs a school ‘Wish List’ which allows the teachers to provide details of all the extra things they need funding for to support the education of our pupils. This is discussed at the PTA meetings to agree how the funds should be spent. Examples include the annual pantomime trip, contributions to other educational trips, playground equipment, classroom supplies and materials, ICT equipment. In addition to things that benefit all the children, every year each class teacher has a specified amount which they can spend on items specifically for their class. Examples include books and educational games, waterproofs and overalls, writing tablets, notice boards.

Further information about the PTA can be found in the   PTA Welcome Newsletter.

PTA Meetings

The PTA committee meets regularly to discuss the school wish list, our events and activities and anything else which needs our consideration. Meeting details will be sent out via email/Seesaw about one week prior to the meeting date. All meetings are open and any member can come along to find out what the PTA is planning, share ideas and get involved – we would love to see you!

Information from our previous committee meetings is available by contacting the PTA Secretary.

Details from our Annual General Meetings can be found below:

There are a number of ongoing fundraising activities that we use to help us raise money throughout the year, and which take very little effort!

Printer Cartridge Recycling

You can help raise funds by donating used printer cartridges into the recycling bin in the school office.  This has been provided by Empties Please, a free fundraising scheme which helps schools raise funds through ink and toner cartridge recycling.  Click here for a full list of ink cartridges that can be recycled and here for a list of toner cartridges that can be recycled.

In addition to raising funds, Empties Please also run an ‘Eco Project’, designed to get pupils outside and learning about their local environment and wildlife.  For every £1 raised, one ‘green point’ is also awarded which can be redeemed for ‘green goodies’.  The current Green Rewards list can be found here.

Printer cartridges can be collected from anywhere, so if you have a workplace that you think would collect for us please let us know and we can make arrangements for a bin to be provided.

Textile Recycling

You can help raise funds by donating your good quality clothes and shoes by using the external clothing bank located at the bottom of the school ramp.  This has been provided by Recycle 4 Schools, a free fundraising scheme which helps schools raise funds through textile recycling, whilst also helping us to save the environment.  Click here for a full list of what can be donated.  If the clothing bank is full please contact the PTA to ensure we are aware and can arrange for it to be emptied.
