Year 6 have had a fantastic week at Oaker Wood Leisure, joining pupils from across the HMFA for an unforgettable residential full of adventure, challenge and fun.
The children threw themselves into a wide range of activities, from building shelters during a ‘wild camp’ experience to tackling high ropes, zip wires and raft challenges on the woodland lake. They showed great courage, teamwork and determination throughout.
There were plenty of opportunities for collaboration and problem-solving too, including the Krypton Woodland Games and team challenges navigating rope courses, climbing obstacles and exploring the woodland on a nature walk.
Highlights also included pizza making in the outdoor oven, an action‑packed paintball session and a lively game of Capture the Flag. Evenings were filled with delicious food, marshmallow toasting and time spent together — as well as a well‑earned game of football!
Everyone has had the most wonderful week, creating lasting memories and showing fantastic resilience and teamwork throughout. A wonderful way to celebrate after SATs and in the closing months of their time at Pencombe.
Now it’s time for a hot bath, a big cuddle at home and a long, well‑deserved sleep…
