Oaker Wood 2025

Last week was Enrichment Week for our Y6s, and week of fun-filled activities to celebrate their hard work during SATS.
 
On Wednesday afternoon, the children went to Oaker Wood and they had the best time ever!
 
Day 1: Krypton Games and Rafting
In the Krypton Games, they had to work as a team to complete a range of outdoor puzzles…this wasn’t too hard for them as they always work as a team!
Rafting was such fun and one of their favourites! When on the raft, they played games on the water and took part in races against Llangrove. They even won the talent contest onboard the raft, singing one of the summer show songs! After that, into the water they went!
 
 
Day 2: Gladiator, Pistol Shooting, Zip Wire and Monkey Climb
 
The Gladiator was a course where the children had to climb to get to the top…not easy as it moved as you climbed!
The Pistol shooting was good fun, some great shots from the Pencombe team (including Mrs Goodman who scored maximum points!!!)
After hot dogs, all of the children went on the zip wire followed by the monkey climb where they had to climb to the top of a very high tree! This was extremely challenging for those that didn’t like heights! They were all so brave and 7 children managed to get to the top, as well as some children doing better than they thought! Great work!
It was chip shop chips for tea, and music round the camp fire. A visitor came out to see us with cake! Thanks Lizzie!
Everyone was very tired so slept brilliantly!
Day 3: Borneo Low Ropes and Paintball
 
The final day started off with more team games, working their way around various low rope activities as a team. Again, they all looked after one another which was lovely to see!
The children then played paintball against Llangrove – it was brilliant! Running around the forest dressed in camouflage….what more could you want?! The perfect end to a perfect week!
Everyone had the best time and it will remain in their memories! Home for a nice comfy bed and a hot bath!
Thank you to all of the wonderful staff at Oaker Wood Leisure who made our time there so memorable!
