Mental Health and Wellbeing Week

Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle challenges, relate to others, and make healthy choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood, so it is vital we are reflective, empathetic and understanding about positive mental health and wellbeing at school.

We started off on “Mindfulness Monday” with “Express Yourself Day” – a day where children could be free to be whoever they choose and dress however they want. Let’s hope that message spreads far and wide….be who you want to be ❤️

Physical activity enhances our wellbeing so on “Talk Out Tuesday”, the whole school went on a walk up to Durstone Hill to increase our levels of calm and happiness! It was such a beautiful day – God was certainly smiling down on us through the blue skies and perfect surroundings!

On “Thoughtful Thursday” we thought is was a lovely idea for the children to know how special they were. What better way to do this than to write on each other’s T-Shirts?! This way, the children could let each other know how fantastic they were and they could show it off to everyone!

Every Friday at Pencombe, we celebrate the achievements of all of the children in our “Assemblies of Excellence”. This is an opportunity for a member in each class to receive a “Star of the Week” for their achievements and we also celebrate collaborative working with housepoint success!
This week, on “Feel Good Friday”, the focus is on Cherry class where everyone has been a ray of sunshine! The class have had some extra awards this week to celebrate everyone’s achievements as well as super stars and golden house points. The children should all be very proud of themselves! 🏅
