As a starting point for their own stories, the children began with the development of a setting, and nouns were generated from an image. These nouns were then developed so that further nouns, adjectives, verbs, and prepositional phrases were added and this planning helped the children to construct high-quality descriptive sentences.

 

They were then ready to continue with their exciting flashback stories after a trigger from their setting caused them to go back in time, evoking a memory from their past.

 

The children produced some fantastic writing!
