Epiphany

This morning, we had a special service in church to celebrate Epiphany.

Epiphany – also known as Three Kings’ Day – is a Christian holiday which falls on 6 January.

It is a special date for many Christians as it’s when people celebrate how a star led the Magi – also known as the Three kings or the Wise Men – to visit the baby Jesus after he had been born.

‘Epiphany’ comes from the Greek word meaning ‘to reveal’, as it is when the baby Jesus was ‘revealed’ to the world.

Reverend Sidwell took us all on a journey to Bethlehem and explained the reasons why gold, frankincense and myrrh were presented to Jesus.

We would like to wish all of families and friends throughout the world who celebrate today, to have a joyous day!
