Christingle

On Wednesday, the whole school came together with family and friends to celebrate Christingle through readings, songs and prayers. The children had thoughtfully created their Christingles, remembering the meaning behind each part:
  • The Orange – representing the world.
  • The Red Ribbon – symbolising the love and sacrifice of Jesus.
  • The Sweets – representing the fruits of the earth and God’s gifts to us, and sometimes the four seasons.
  • The Candle – shining at the centre, reminding us that Jesus is the Light of the World.

Each class played a special part in the service: Oak Class shared the readings, Willow Class recited a poem, Cherry Class explained the meaning of the Christingle and Pippin Class handed out the sweets — God’s gifts to us all!

All of the children were magnificent — not only in their performances, but also in the sensible and safe way they held their lit Christingles.
It was a truly joyful and reflective occasion for our whole school community.

Dear God,
Thank you for the light of Jesus,
for the world You made,
and for all the good things You give us.
Help us to share Your love and shine Your light
with everyone we meet.
Amen.
