Yesterday, the whole school came together with family and friends to celebrate Ascension.
The children remembered the moment when Jesus returned to heaven, promising that he would always be with them.
It was a special time of reflection, joy and togetherness, as everyone thought about hope, faith and the responsibility they have to share kindness and love with others.
Because of the changing weather, to start, Y5 acted out the Ascension story in church followed by a hymn and prayers. Following this, everyone grabbed their wellies and coats and ascended Durstone Hill to fly kites and enjoy an ice lolly!

Thank you for the story of Ascension and the promise that Jesus is always with us.
Help us to follow his example in all that we say and do, showing love, kindness and courage each day.
Guide us as we care for one another and shine your light in our school and community.
