Caerleon with Willow and Oak

Last week, all of the children in Oak and Willow class took a step back in time to AD 75 to visit the astounding Roman fortress, ruins and baths of Caerleon.
The children explored primary artefacts within the National Roman Legion Museum all excavated from Caerleon itself, took part in Roman re-enactments, listened to information from the time, experienced the cramped conditions of a Roman soldier’s conditions whilst trying on their armour, and visited the Roman baths and the amphitheatre where the gladiators would have fought. It was an excellent trip, especially as Willow class learn about the Romans – the staff were excellent and informative…we will be back!
